Medicare (Chronic Disease Management Plans) Children with a chronic or complex medical condition may be eligible for a rebate (up to the value of $50) for 5 allied health sessions per calendar year. Kids Physio Newcastle is an approved provider under the Better Start initiative and the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in Newcastle NSW. Kids Physio Newcastle is also registered with Medicare and all private health insurers, so clients may be eligible for a rebate from their private health fund and also through a Chronic Disease Management plan (formerly Enhanced Primary Care plan/Medicare funding). National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIA) The National Disability Insurance Scheme provides supports for people with significant disabilities. Kids Physio Newcastle is a provider under the National Disability Insurance Scheme and Families may access services through Kids Physio Newcastle using funding allocated to their child through this scheme. If your child has yet to be assessed for eligibility or if you require any further information, please contact the National Disability Insurance Scheme directly.
Better Start Initiative for Children with a disability- FAHSCIA intiative
Children under the age of 6 years with certain diagnoses may be eligible for up to $12000 in funding for early intervention services and treatments. Children who have Better Start funding may access physiotherapy services through Kids Physio Newcastle utilising their Better Start funding. There is a list of diagnoses that are eligible to receive Better Start on their website. Please contact Better Start directly for more information.
*The therapist will take a full history identifying any concerns you may have and a thorough assessment will then be completed. The initial findings will then be discussed with you and goals will be set to make sure we are directing therapy to address the areas of greatest need. An intervention plan and treatment options will then be discussed including how often your child requires treatment and what progress we would expect to be made.
